24 HOUR ATTEMPT!!!

The 3 Peaks Challenge consists of climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Mt Snowdon in Wales. The challenge is not only to climb and descend all 3 but to do so within 24 hours!

A good level of fitness is required for this challenge so taking up a training programme prior to the event is advisable. As part of our 3 Peaks Challenge Package we will provide you with a 16 week Training and Nutrition Plan. You will also receive tips on how to prepare your kit, food and what clothing you will need.

What It Involves...

Your challenge weekend will start on Friday morning when our minibus will depart from pre arranged pick up points and travel to Fort William, arriving late afternoon. We will spend the night in a local hotel, chill out and go through a briefing and kit check. The next morning our dedicated driver will drive us to our start point at the base of Ben Nevis. We have 5 hours to climb and descend this mountain before taking the 7 hour journey to Scafell Pike in the Lake District. We will then start the ascent of England’s highest mountain with a night descent using headtorches. A 4 hour trip to Snowdon will see daylight break for our final peak. On completion and celebratory drink will be well deserved in Mallory's Bar before taking the journey back to the pick up points.

Kit List...

You need to be prepared for all weather conditions from dry and hot to wet, windy and cold! Here is a list of essentials and a further detailed list will be sent with your Challenge Information Pack upon signing up.

  • Walking boots/shoes
  • Comfortable walking clothes
  • Spare base layers and fleece
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • 2 x hat and gloves
  • Snacks
  • Hydration container
  • Rucksack (approx. 15ltr)
 
Environment and the group...

We understand the impact this challenge has on the upland environment, hence why we will never take groups any larger than 10 at one time. This will ensure that you get the best out of the challenge by getting to know the other participants, have our best attention and keep the group impact as low as possible. 

 

Guided...

This challenge is fully guided from start to finish, so you're in safe hands with a qualified Mountain Leader holding an up to date Outdoor First Aid Certificate.
